Sample Legal Courses
Medical Terminology for the Legal
Profession
MedicoLogic courses are designed
for legal professionals whose work brings them into contact with
medical evidence, claims and reports. Whilst running a personal
injury claim, legal professionals have to decode medical notes, and
often struggle to understand the medical language and abbreviations.
To provide an effective service to clients and in order to maximise
damages, all lawyers need to understand and appreciate the injury
sustained from a medical perspective. (click

MedicoLogic’s courses are suitable not only for experienced lawyers,
who specialise in personal injury, and clinical negligence claims,
but also their support staff, and newly qualified staff moving into
this specialisation. As such the courses are ideal for continual
professional development of personal injury and clinical negligence
practitioners.
Medical claims and reports frequently make reference to terms
associated with Orthopaedics (including fractures and head
injuries), Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Ear, Nose & Throat, CT/MRI
scans, and Cardiology. Our courses provide delegates with an
understanding of the medical terms and abbreviations commonly used
in the above disciplines. They provide a basic understanding of the
related diseases and the associated medical matters to look out for.
To deliver continual professional development for personal injury
and clinical negligence practitioners, MedicoLogic works in
partnership with both BPP with Central Law Training Ltd, (leading
providers of legal professional training) in providing courses on:
• Understanding Medical Reports & Evidence
• Making Sense of Medical Records and Reports
• Reviewing Medical Records & Reports
Qualified legal professionals are required to undertake continual
professional development that is relevant and appropriate to their
professional responsibilities and personal development. The courses
outlined above count for 3 or 6 hours of continual professional
development, and are accredited by the Association of Personal
Injury Lawyers (APIL).
As with all MedicoLogic training, clients have the freedom to choose
the contents of any course, and we can carry out the training at a
time and place to suit you.
The provision of specialist targeted in house training creates a
confidential atmosphere, allowing delegates the freedom to discuss
problems of a sensitive or commercial nature, that they may not feel
comfortable raising outside the confines of the business.
